Meet Piedmont Service Group’s Executive Team
Keith Summey
President
With 30+ years experience, Keith is well versed in all aspects of the HVAC industry. Keith is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of The Technical College of Alamance. In 1984 he joined Piedmont Service Group and has worked in both the service and sales divisions. Keith joined the leadership team as GM of the Wilmington office in 1997, and grew that region for the company. In 2007, he was asked to lead the Raleigh office as Vice President & GM until 2010 when he was promoted to COO. Keith assumed the role of President in 2013.
Chris Turner
Chief Operating Officer
Chris joined Piedmont Service Group in 2003 where he served as both a Construction Sales Engineer as well as Business Development Manager. In 2014 he was promoted to the role of General Manager for our Controls Division and was then named President of CMS Controls in 2021. Chris assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for Piedmont Service Group in 2024. A graduate of NC State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chris has 20+ years of HVAC and building automation experience and is a mechanical and general contractor license holder, LEED AP and Certified Energy Manager. Chris also serves on the board of directors for StepUp Ministry in Raleigh.
Ken Oesch
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Ken is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC with a degree in accounting and is a member of the CMA. His experience includes 13 years with a Fortune 500 company as a Director of Finance/Controller. Ken joined Piedmont Service Group in 2008, and in 2010 assumed the role of CFO at Piedmont.
Lee Marlow
Chief Culture Officer
With 30+ years of dedicated service, Lee is a seasoned professional in ministry, counseling, and leadership development with a strong focus on identifying and navigating through positive culture transition. Throughout his career he has blended spiritual guidance with practical wisdom to enrich the lives of others and strengthen his organizations. His commitment to fostering personal growth and organizational development has been evident throughout his career journey, earning him recognition as a trusted advisor and mentor. Lee is known for his compassionate approach, insightful guidance, and unwavering dedication to empowering individuals and organizations to reach their fullest potential. Lee began his journey with Piedmont Service Group in late 2021 and ascended to his current position as Chief Culture Officer in February 2024.
H.B. Moore
Vice President & General Manager Greenville
H.B. started his HVAC career in 1979 in Raleigh, NC. He joined Piedmont in 1981 after graduation from Wake Technical College in Raleigh. His direct field experience has included all aspects of residential and commercial service and building automation applications. H.B. moved into commercial service sales in Eastern N.C. in 1990. He was promoted to General Manager in 1993 and opened the Greenville operation and the Wilmington operation in 1997. Piedmont's eastern operation provides mechanical and energy services to 21 counties.
John Lowe
vice president/general manager Virginia
Joining Piedmont Service Group in 2018, John brings a strong history of operations and sales excellence to the leadership team. With over 30 years of experience, he has held senior executive positions and led manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses through purposeful growth. He is a graduate of The Citadel and has participated in executive education programs at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, UNC’s Kenan-Flagler, and Harvard Business School.
Bobby Hughes
General Manager Of Construction
Bobby joined Piedmont in 1994 and has been a Sales Engineer, Estimator and Project Manager. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at NC State, he passed the EIT exam and in 1999, earned his Professional Engineering license for North Carolina. Bobby has electrical and mechanical licenses, and has the Green Advantage Certification under the LEED program.
Jay Tripp
General Manager, Raleigh
Jay began his career in the HVAC industry as a teenager over 30 years ago, working in his family’s Electrical and HVAC business. He passed the NC Electrical Contactor’s Licensing exam shortly after graduation from high school, while attending Pitt Community College. After receiving an A.A.S. in Industrial Electrical/Electronics Technology, he worked as an industrial electrician for seven years. He came to Piedmont’s Greenville, NC branch as a commercial service tech in 1997 and transitioned to project sales in 2001. He left Piedmont in 2006 to run his family’s business and pursue other ventures, but returned to Piedmont in 2016 as a maintenance sales representative. In January 2020, he was promoted to General Manager of the Wilmington/Myrtle Beach offices and grew that division over 2 years. In January 2023, Jay relocated to his current role as General Manager for our Raleigh branch. Jay currently holds licenses in NC for Electrical, HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration.
Glenn Hatch
General Manager, GREENSBORO
Glenn has over 20 years of experience in the buildings service industry after graduating from N.C. State with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a licensed engineer in the state of NC, a certified energy manager, and a certified commissioning professional. Glenn previously held leadership and management positions at Johnson Controls, Brady Services, and Schneider Electric. His technical experience includes building automation, commissioning, turn-key mechanical projects, performance contracts, and energy saving projects. Glenn joined Piedmont Service Group as a General Manager of the Greensboro office in 2020.
Bryan Oliphant
GENERAL MANAGER, WILMINGTON/MYRTLE BEACH
Bryan's career journey started in 1996 when he entered the HVAC/Refrigeration field following his graduation from Orleans/Niagara Vocational School. He spent 15 years working as a Journeyman Level Service Technician, honing his skills and gaining valuable experience. He decided to explore a new industry and transitioned into the Powersports Industry, where he eventually became a successful business owner with a global presence in 14 countries. After selling his business, Bryan returned to his roots in HVAC, equipping himself with management tools and skills. Bryan joined the Piedmont Service Group team in 2023 as General Manager of the Wilmington and Myrtle Beach branches.
Edward L. Kelly, P.E.
Business Development
Larry graduated from Georgia Tech in 1962. After graduating, he moved to Raleigh where he worked with McCracken Supply Company until 1972. In May of that year, he purchased Piedmont Air Conditioning. Larry is a professional engineer and maintains all appropriate HVAC licenses.
Daniel Kelly
Business Development
Buddy graduated from West Georgia College and served in the United States Navy Reserve until 1970. He worked for Playtex Corporation in various managerial positions in the U.S. Mexico and Canada. Buddy joined Piedmont Air Conditioning in 1975. Buddy has all appropriate HVAC licenses.
